Former Vikings headed to NFL

Three former Vikings have signed free agent contracts. Notably, top linebacker Andy Schantz has signed with the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. Schantz, a third-team Associated Press All-American, led the Vikings with 115 tackles, had 15 tackles for loss and nine pass breakups in 2008. He is the third Viking linebacker in as many years to join an NFL team (Jordan Senn, Colts, 2008; Adam Hayward, Buccaneers, 2007)... also signing free agent contracts were cornerback Reggie Jones and kicker/punter Danny Urrego. Jones signed with the New Orleans Saints. He had 38 tackles, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and seven pass breakups in 2008. Urrego signed with the Buffalo Bills.
