NODA Conference, 11/7-11/10

Three of our New Student Programs Staff (Melissa, Hillary, & Johnathan) had the opportunity to go to the National Orientation Director's Association (NODA) national conference, which was held in Anaheim, CA.

They were able to network with other Orientation professionals and bring back a lot of great ideas that we can implement at Portland State U.

To those who participated in Freshmen Preview Day, thank you! We had a great day with you and hope that you enjoyed visiting the campus this past Saturday, November 14th. Due to the overwhelming interest of this program, we are considering offering two Preview Day programs next year.

Freshmen Preview Day

It's not too late to join us for Freshmen Preview Day! Freshmen Preview Day provides high school students, who are exploring their higher education options, an opportunity to find out what Portland State University has to offer.

* Learn about the admission process
* Meet with faculty from an academic department
* Talk with current students about their PSU experience & take a campus tour
* Discover ways to make college affordable through Financial Aid and Scholarships
* Learn about on-campus housing options and ways to get involved

Freshmen Preview Day will be held on Saturday, November 14th from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. The cost of attendance is $10 per person. Breakfast refreshments and lunch are included for all participants!

All Freshmen Preview Day student participants are eligible to win prizes, including scholarships, gift certificates from local businesses and Portland attractions, and Portland State apparel and spirit items. We are going to have a lot of fun!

Congratulations Vikings Women's Soccer

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland State women's soccer team was crowned the Big Sky regular season champion after Northern Colorado upset Northern Arizona, 4-0, in Greeley, Colo. It is the Vikings second Big Sky Championship since joining the conference in 1997. The Viks will now host the Big Sky Championship Nov. 6 and 8.

The tournament semifinals will begin Nov. 6 at 1:30 p.m., with seed No. 3 versus seed No. 2 and the second semifinal will begin at 4 p.m., with the No. 4 team versus the host Vikings. After a day of rest Saturday, the winner of both matches will square off for a automatic berth for the NCAA Tournament at 11 a.m. All matches will be played at PCC - Rock Creek.
